The Bible Speaks. "PROPHECIES THAT CAME TRUE"- W. L. EMMERSON & PACIFIC PRESS. pp.98-104.

My many thanks to the two entities named in the title line John B.

1) How did the woman of Samaria testify to the Jewish expectation of the Messiah, or Christ?

John 4:25  "The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things"

NOTE(JB) . Messias is the Greek for Messiah, which in Hebrew is Mashiach [Strong's # 3323].Christ or Christos in the Greek means "The Anointed One", in English The Messiah.

2) What did Jesus tell her concerning Himself?
John 4:26 " Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he."
Matthew 26:63-66  "But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy. What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death."

NOTE(JB) As so many today, who are very sure of what they know of the Bible, or what they have been taught all their lives, when shown the Bible truth, they reject it! This is the why 96% of Christendom worships on Sunday, the Venerable day of the sun-god! Thus fully obeying the men from Rome, and rejecting both Jesus and the word!

John 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.  [read Exodus 20: 1-17]  Compare this to your Catechism's Ten Commandments ask why the difference? Think man can really change God's laws, and WHY?  HOW.. when the original tablets of stone are in Heaven within the Ark of the Covenant?  SELAH...THINK!

3) What evidence did Jesus offer in support of His claim?
Luke 24:25-27  "Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself."

4) How was the Messiah to be manifested?
    PROPHECY:

Isaiah 9:6-7  "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."

FULFILLMENT:

Matthew 1:23 " Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

NOTE(JB) Of course, today's people are far to educated to believe in a Virgin Birth, just as they are far too wise to accept the idea of a God who created the Universe from nothing, and Speaking it into existence! OR ARE WE? Do we, the collective humanity, know every thing there is to know? Do most know, for example, that the Bible's first reference to Jesus is in Genesis 3:15?  SELAH.!

PROPHECY:

5) From what Blood line of decent did Iasiah say He would come from?

Isaiah 11:1 " And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:"
Note: Jesse was the father of David, and thus refers to the family line of David.

FULFILLMENT:

Matthew 1:1  "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham."

6) Where would the Messiah be born?

PROPHECY:

Micah 5:2 " But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

NOTE(JB) Beth means house lehem means bread, thus Bethlehem means "House of bread" and Christ is the "Bread of Life". Ephratah means basket thus a basket of bread!  [John 6:48]

FULFILLMENT:

Matthew 2:1-6 " Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel."

7) In what miraculous way would He be conceived?

PROPHECY:

Isaiah 7:14  "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel."

FULFILLMENT:

Matthew 1:20-21 " But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins."

8) What danger would threaten His early years?

PROPHECY:

Jeremiah 31:15  "Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel  [RACHAEL] weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not."

FULFILLMENT:

Matthew 2:16-18  "Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel   [Rahel] weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not."

9) Where would He be temporarily exiled?

PROPHECY:

Hosea 11:1 "When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt."

FULFILLMENT:

Matthew 2:13-15  "And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son."

10) By whom would His ministry be announced?

PROPHECY:

Isaiah 40:3  "The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God."

FULFILLMENT:

Luke 3:4  "As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight."

11) What would be the nature of the Messiah's blessed ministry?

PROPHECY:

Isaiah 61:1  "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;"

NOTE (jb) Captives? Those whom Satan has deceived and are bound in the prison of sin.

FULFILLMENT:

Luke 4:16-19  "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."

12.) Before His death, what symbolic exaltation would He receive?

PROPHECY:

Zechariah 9:9  "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."

FULFILLMENT:

Luke 19:35  "And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon."

13) For what price would e be sold {out}?

PROPHECY:

Zechariah 11:12  "And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver."

FULFILLMENT:

Matthew 26:14-16  "Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him."

14) In what spirit would He endure Hi sufferings?

PROPHECY:

Isaiah 53:7 " He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth."

FULFILLMENT:

Mark 15:3-5 " And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marveled."

15) How was the Messiah' s vicarious suffering foretold by the prophet?

PROPHECY:

Isaiah 53:4-5 " Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

FULFILLMENT:

Matthew 8:17  "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses"

16) How exactly were the details of the Crucifixion foretold?

PROPHECY:

Psalms 22:16-18  "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture."  [clothing].

NOTE(JB) Psalm 22 is the single greatest source, about the Cross and His death.

FULFILLMENT:

John 19:23-24 " Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.  They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did."

17) Where would the Messiah rest {Sabbath} in death?

PROPHECY:

Isaiah 53:9  "And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth."

FULFILLMENT:

Matthew 27:57-60 " When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed."

18) In what words was His resurrection foreshadowed?

PROPHECY:

Psalms 16:10-11 " For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

NOTE(JB) Hell here is the Greek word Hades meaning grave, period! There are no hell fires as yet, not until 1,000 years after Christ Second Coming, as per Bible, not men!

FULFILLMENT:

Acts 2:25-27 " For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."

19) In view of His minute fulfillment of the Messianic prophecy how confidently did Paul witness that Jesus was Christ?

Acts 17:2-3  "And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ"

Next: One of THE most important question answered, "WHY CHRIST CAME"

THANKING Y O U  for your time.

Please note we have here ONLY e few of the many prophecies concerning Jesus Christ. Some French Mathematics PhD, who specialized in actuarial tables calculated that if only 8 foretelling came true in one person's life span, the odds would be astronomical, let alone many more prophecies, that came to pass!
