But God's 2nd Commandment forbids us to bow down to any image, and they chose not to obey the king. They knew the price of their disobedience was to be cast into the fiery furnace, that burned the cities trash.. Even though they were thrown into the fiery furnace, God saved them out of that furnace, which was so hot that the guards who threw them into it, died. God saved the because they honored Him.
The Book of Revelation also speaks to an image, a Beast Power, who makes an image and a mark in Chapter 13. Which speaks about event that shall come during the Latter Days The Beast power will demand worship on the the day it chooses, and will enforce this as a law to worship his image, which is s sign of it's authority.
As it was, so shall it be, again, there shall be an International Sunday Law, and all who refuse to worship on that day shall be cast into prison or killed!
Revelation 13:15 "And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed."
The question then is: "Who is this Beast in Revelation, and What is His mark"?
1. Who does Revelation say will get a mark in the last days?
Revelation 7:2-3 "And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads."
Revelation 13:16-17. "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."
NOTE: Every one shall receive a mark, not just the wicked. The servants of God shall be sealed in their foreheads. {Sealed by the knowing Jesus Christ as with a personal relationship] While the wicked and the deceive [willingly so] shall receive a mark in their right hand [by their support of labor or financial support] or in their forehead [knowledge]. The Bible tells us that the hand symbolizes the actions, and the forehead symbolizes the mind or one;s desires. Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."
Isaiah 59:6 "Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands."
Deuteronomy 6:6-8 " And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes."
2. What is the seal that the righteous have?
Isaiah 8:16 "Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples."
3. Where in God' s Word can we find His Seal?
Exodus 20:11 "For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it."
Note: Just as there are THREE Parts to the Presidential Seal, as there are also in all other seals of office. The three (3) parts are: (1) Name of Office holder. (2) The Office and (3) The Territory ruled.In God's Law the fourth Commandment also has all three parts: (1) Name: The Lord God. (2) His Office: Creator. (3) and His Territory ruled: Heaven and Earth. This Seal is thus found within the Sabbath Commandment for The Sabbath is a SIGN between God and His people!
Ezekiel 20:20 " And hallow my Sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God."
4. Does Revelation call us back to this sign or seal?
Revelation 14:7 "Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
Note: This is a direct quote for the Sabbath Commandment in Exodus 20 8-11. that tells us to worship Him whom made or created all things. It's a call to keep the Sabbath, in part, as the Memorial of His Creation.
5. What then is the Mark of the Beast?
Revelation 14:9-10 "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:"
Note: These are those who follow the words and commandments of men!
Revelation 14:12 "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."
Note: This last verse is self explanatory right?
Note 2: If ANY worships the image that the Beast Power has established, they accept the mark of the Beast's authority. The Beast shall enforce a law contrary to God's Law [ the 4th] Anyone who accepts this law will receive this Mark of the Beast. But it is not yet, but it shall be so when Governmental Law required Sunday worship! {THAT. . . .IS. . . the Mark of the Beast, used from that law forwards,!]
You see, it's all boils down to who YOU, obey God or men?
NOW LET ALLOW THE BIBLE TO IDENTIFY WHO THIS BEAST POWER IS.
1. King-Kingdom, political power. 6; Receives a deadly wound that healed.
2. Rises from the sea [densely populated] 7. Persecutes God' s saints.
3. Becomes a worldwide power 8. Led by one Supreme man
4. Guilty of Blasphemy 9. Has the mysterious number 666.
5. Rules supreme 42 prophetic months 10. Forces all to receive a "Mark".
The rest of this lesson will be dedicated to the answering of the first (9) Bible points. The nest lesson # 10 will be about the 10th point which will tell us exactly what the Beast's and its mark is.
To help us I.D. who this Beast is, let's look at history and what other's have stated within the great Protestant Reformation's leaders expressed, in words spoken and written about.
Thomas Cranmer:"Whereof if followeth Rome to be the seat of the Antichrist, and the Pope to be the very Antichrist himself."
John Wesley. "He is...the M
John Calvin. (Presbyterian) "...we call the Roman Pontiff Antichrist."
Roger Williams ( 1st Baptist Pastor in America)"... he is the the son of perdition 1 Thes.2"
John Knox . "the very Antichrist and son of perdition of whom Paul speaks. "The Zurich Letters, by John Knox p.199.
POINT # 1. WHAT DOES THE BEAST REPRESENT IN THE BIBLE?
Daniel 7:17 "These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth."
Daniel 7:23 "Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces."
Note: A beast is symbolic of and represents a earthly king or kingdom. Remember there Babylon, then Medo-Persia, the Greece, and finally The Two Roman empires the Pagan and then the Church and State as one.?
POINT # 2.
7. WHERE DOES THIS BEAST COME FROM?
Revelation 13:1 " And I stood upon the sand of the sea, [ sea of humanity]and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."
Revelation 17:15 "And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues."
Note: This power rose up from out of the sea, which represent peoples, multitudes and nations. This means he arises from among an existing center of population. Before the nation of Rome fell, the Emperor [Constantine] set up the Bishop of Rome as head of the Church, and of the State [Western Europe] in 331 A.D. "To the succession of the Caesars, came the successions of the Pontiffs in Rome. Constantine gave his seat to the Pontiff" Labianca, Professor, University of Rome.
Point #3.
8. How far does the Beats' authority reach?
Revelation 13:3. "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast."
Note: All the world, will wonder after the Beast. Of the 2.2 Billion Christians worldwide,, more than 1/2 are Catholic the "Universal" Church,. {the meaning of the Latin word for Universal}. They have followers in most of earth's nations today, BUT this IS NOT against the followers, ONLY those who run this system!
Point #4.
John 10:32-33. "Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God."
Note: There were 30 days in each Jewish month. In the Bible's prophecy, a day equals a year, [Numbers 14:34 + Ezekiel 4:6} So 42 months would equal 1260 days/years. When did the Popes begin their absolute reigns?
In 538 A.D. Emperor Justinian set a legal degree making the Bishop of Rome head over all the churches, the definer of doctrine and the corrector of heretics."
Vigilius... ascended the Papal Chair in (538 A.D. under the military protection of Belisarius." History of the Christian Church, Vol 3.p. 327.
<-538---------------------------> 1798 AD = 1260 days--years.
Point # 6.
11. What happened to the Beast after the 42 months?
Revelation 13:3. "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast."
"Encyclopedia Americana 1941." ----"Napoleon's General (Alexandre Berthier) made his entrance into Rome, in 1798, and abolished the Papal Government and established a secular one."
When you add 1260 years to 538 AD it comes to 1798 AD. Was the Pope wounded to death in 1798? {He died in prison in France some three months latter}
Did this deadly wound heal? Yes, 131 years latter, when Mussolini and Gasparri signed the Lateran Treaty in 1929, making the Vatican City again a independent State. The headlines for the San Francisco Chronicle for that day read: "Mussolini and Gasparri sign historic pact."
"In affixing autographs to the memorable document, HEALING THE WOUND" cordiality was displayed on both sides." This being the sub-headline for the text of that day! Feb. 11, 1929.
Point # 7.
12. What does the Beast do to God' s saints?
Revelation 13:7. "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."
Note: This began as persecutions against the peoples who had all or parts of the Bible, which was made illegal for anyone to have, even one verse, if they were not a Church Official. Possession meant death, by sword, if lucky, or by fire at a stake.
Note 2: In order to silence those whom Rome declared "Heretics", the Roman Catholic Church made war, and persecuted, God's true saints. It is estimated [and that's all we can do, as many records were lost over time] that some 50- 100 millions were killed or martyred, because they either had a Bible or a part, or refused to Believe as Rome ordered, and thus died. {"Believe as we tell you, or die will come unto humanity again} See Foxe' s Book of Martyrs in most public libraries.
Point # 8.
13. Does the Beast have a single man at its head?
Revelation 13:18. "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."
Note: This Power System, the Roman Universal Church is, and has mostly headed by one man [at one time in history there were three factions, each had elected a Pope, the warring victor, ruled] The Pope! This church claims that he stands in God' s pl;ace, or earth.
Lucias Ferraris-- "Promta Bibliotheca", PAPA, 11 Vol.VI. p. 29. "The Pope is of so great authority and power, that he can modify...divine law, since his power is not of man, but of God."
Point # 9.
14. What is the Beast's mysterious number 666?
Revelation 13:17-18. "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."
Note: This number of the name is found on the "Triple Crown", a three Tiered Crown, as those seen on the stone carvings from the Assyrian Religion priests of DAGON the Fish god. {Google or Wikipedia any underlined word} The Popes Used to wear it, but not since this info has become common in the public knowledge, it is now stored in the vaults. The Latin inscription, VICARIUS FILII DIE in Latin for: "Vicar of the Son of God, taken by the Latin, the Roman numeral values they add up to 666 as shown below.
