- Matthew 24:12. "And because iniquity [lawlessness] shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."
- If you disbelieve this , you have heard any news for years!
- Jeremiah 31:3. "The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee"
- John 16:27. "For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, ....."
- 1 John 4:8."He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
HOW HAS GOD'S LOVE BEEN SHOWN TO ALL?
- John 3:14-16. "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
- 1 John 4:9-10. "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."
WE mere mortals can not graps the full measure if this AGAPE love that God has for each of us! HE was willing to see His only Son suffer and die, rather than be separated from, YOU for eternity. We will not be able to understand it fully, but HE did it . . . . . JUST FOR YOU!
BUT. . . but how can GOD love me a sinner?
Romans 5:8. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Note: God does NOT see us as we are, but what we can become, in the image if Jesus. Certainly not because we earned it, or deserve it! Not one of us has earned anything except the wages of sin.....>
- Romans 6:23. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Note: God knows that sins always leads to misery and pain not only to the sinners but to those who love him/her, and in the end to death, plus, HE wants none to perish. That's why He gave His life for us, willingly!
What does the Death of Jesus do for YOU?
- 1 John 3:1. "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not."
- John 1:12. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
Note: Christ died to satisfy the death penalty against us all. He was born as a man, lived a perfect life, never using His Divinity for Himself, but to do good for others, heal, to raise. Thus HIS sin-less life is counted by GOD towards us, having died in our place! His death is accepted by the Father, as PAYMENT IN FULL for our sins, by our accepting Him and His gift of life everlasting., we are then taken into the Family of God, as His children!
Think over these simple but huge facts:
- Because all have sinned, all have earned a death sentence.
- If I pay that penalty and die for my sins, I shall perish with my sins.
- I owe something I can't pay, but a friend, Jesus has payed this price for you, because He died for YOUR and Mine sins.
- I therefore, must accept and believe on HIM and His offer! Simple is it not?The moment each accepts His death for their sins, each becomes a son or daughter of GOD The Father!
- Amazing Fact: May 24th 1844, Samuel F.B. Morse dispatched the first telegraphic message over an experimental line, from Washington D.C. to Baltimore.
- Numbers 23:23 "......... What hath God wrought!"
HOW DOES ONE RECEIVE HIM, AND GAIN ETERNAL LIFE?
The Bible tells us....>
To admit three things......
- I am a sinner.... Romans 3:23. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
- I am doomed to die.... Romans 6:23. "For the wages of sin is death; ...."
- I can't save myself.... John 15:5 ".........without me ye can do nothing."
- He died for me...... Hebrews 2:9 "That He..... should taste death for every man."
- He forgives me.... 1 John 1:9. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
- He saves me.....John 6:47. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."
WHAT must one do to obtain His gift of salvation?
- Romans 3:24. "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:"
- Romans 3:28. "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law."
The only things we must do, is to believe, to accept, and to learn His word, means to begin to Love both The Father and The Son, It is our love that will help us to fully obey His law. The worst sinner will be accepted on the same basis as the moral person. The past does not count, when one come before Christ!
- Ephesians 2:8-9. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
- 2 Corinthians 5:17. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
WILL THE CHANGES LIFE REALLY BE HAPPIER THAN THE PLEASURES OF THE OLD LIFE?
- John 15:11. "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."
- John 8:36. "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." NOTE: free from what? Harmful habits to health,as these are chains, Satan has devised.
- John 10:10. "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
BUT. . . BUT CAN WE MAKE OURSELVES NOT DO ALL THESE THINGS?
- Jeremiah 13:23. "Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil."
- Galatians 2:20. "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
- Philippians 4:13 . " can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
- .Psalms 40:8. "I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart."
What sacred act seal the love relationship with Christ?
Romans 6:3-7 ."Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin."
Note: "...Buried with Him unto death.... How are we buried with baptism? We are to be totally submerged under the water, in order to be as the Bible describes this.
Baptism symbolizes what?
- death to sin
- birth to a new life in Christ
- marriage to Christ for eternity
- a new and deeper love, which in which our desire is to obey and serve Him
- John 5:39. "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me"
- 1 Thessalonians 5:17. "Pray without ceasing.} [without omission]
- Luke 8:39. "Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him."
