The Bible Speaks: "BLESSINGS OF FORGIVENESS" by W.L. Emmerson. Pacific Press, Pub. pp 139-142.

My many thanks and Gratitude to all who made this book possible. John B.

1) Who ONLY, has the right to remit punishment and forgive sin?
Isaiah 43:25  "I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins."

NOTE(JB) How can any man even think that he can remit punishments and forgive sins of another human being? In view of this passage..... Romans 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Is this not as man saying that while they forgive and give absolution to the sinners, in some confession booth, that they have power over God's job of forgiving man's sins! What do YOU call, blasphemy?

NOTE(JB) As a young teen, I had a friend, that was an American Native, and I asked him, what in his culture they described the human conscience,. He knew not his exact age but that he remember spending 80 winters, and this was in the mid 1950's! This is what I learned. " When we are born the Great Spirit punts inside our hearts a very sharp stone, and when we do something we know to be wrong, the stone begins to spin, and that hurts our hearts! But when we keep doing wrong, over time, the stone is worm smooth but our hearts becomes very hared!"  I've not ever forgotten that story, and if one thinks about it, it point one! Today, there are many people, with very hard hearts!

2) How ready is God-The Father to exercise His mercy towards the sinners?
Exodus 34:6-7  "And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation."

3) What did God's Holiness by necessity, impose upon His mercy?
Hebrews 9:22  "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission"
.Romans 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"

Note: "The terms are most direct and most explicit. They are not repentance or good works, but the SHEDDING OF BLOOD, and this is one why, why Christ needed to die!

NOTE(JB) .Genesis 9:6  "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man."

Please know that humans were closer to God, in those days, thus able to render honest verdicts, without prejudice, or political aspirations, that confronts in these last few hundred years! I for one am glad to error on the side of caution, and allow Christ to judge us all at the end! For there is NO unsolved crime with The Creator-God!

4) By whom have the conditions of forgiveness been met?
Acts 13:37-38 " But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:"

\NOTE(JB) Please read, very slowly and carefully the The Second Psalm, with prayer asking for the wisdom needed to fully understand it! It points to the requirements to be able to stand in that Great Day that Christ returns!  All who shall not be able to stand, at that time have already perished! Thus choose YE this day whom ye shall obey, for whom ye obey his servants ye are. Serve ye God or serve ye Man? Serve righteousness, or serve those who lie and deceive you?
Harsh?  Yeah! But how kind is death, everlasting?

5) How did Jesus make forgiveness possible?
Ephesians 1:5-7 " Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"
1 John 1:7-8 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

NOTE(JB): We, each, need to claim Him daily, and re-invite the Holy Spirit, into our hearts, to rule as is His The Father's will, and asking for His help and guidance to "Die To Self", so that Christ lives more fully within us!  None of this can we accomplish by our own powers!BY the way: All of humanity has been Predestined or chosen for Heaven, it is we that need HIM!

6) By virtue of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, what is God the father willing to do for those who are convicted of sin?
Job 33:28-30 " He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.  Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,  To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living"

7) How completely is God repaired to remove the guilt of sin?.
Isaiah 1:18-19  "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:"

8) How far will He remove our transgressions from us?
Psalms 103:12 " As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

9) What does The Father say concerning the remembrance of sins, repented of and confessed?
Hebrews 8:12  "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."

10) Howe supremely blessed, therefore, is the forgiven sinner?
Romans 4:7-8 " Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin."
Psalms 32:1-2  " Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.  Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile."

11) Believing the promises of God, for what did the psalmist pray?
Psalms 25:7  "Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD"
.Psalms 25:18 " Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins."

12) How did he testify to the forgiveness of his sins?
Psalms 32:5 "I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah."

13) For what does Jesus encourage believers to pray for?
Luke 11:4 " And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil."

14) Is there na sin which God will not forgive?
Matthew 12:31-32  "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."

NOTE(JB): If one keeps ignoring The Father's calling, He removes Himself farther and farther away, and after a time, the sinner will no longer be able to hear His calling, and thus is lost, blotted out, as if never even existed!  LOOK>>>>

15) What makes this sin unpardonable?
John 16:8-9  "And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:  Of sin, because they believe not on me;"

Note: If the sinner refuses to be convicted of sin, by rejecting the Holy  Spirit's pleading, obviously there can be no pardon,; for there no other messenger of mercy to follow!

16) If we claim forgiveness from God how should we relate ourselves toe who wrong us?
Ephesians 4:30-32 "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
Colossians 3:12-13  "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."

NOTE(JB) Those who want God's  mercy MUST be prepared to give it, to all others!

17) Should there be any limit to our forgiveness to others?
" Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven."

NOTE(JB): This number 490 is the same number of years that Israel's people were given to remove all sins from their lives, or loose their National Salvation, and thus must come to The Father through Jesus Christ, just like all others must do as well!

NEXT: "JUSTIFIED BY FAITH."  [sadly many are taught, that this comes only by works, and NONE is able to earn Heaven by their own works or efforts!"

The bible Speaks: "WHAT IS CONVERSION"? by W.L. Emmerson, Pacific Press, Pub pp.134-138.

My many thanks to the above mentioned entities, I know not if this is in reprint, as my copy is from 1948. John B.

1) What universal call does God make to sinners?
Acts 17:29-30  "Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:"

NOTE(JB):  As God IS our Creator, and as HE IS AND HAS sustained of our lives, He is in the position of command, don't you agree?

2) For what purpose did Jesus come among men?
Luke 5:32  "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
Matthew 18:11 " For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."

James S. Stewart, "The Strong News" p.15 "We can thank God that every twinge of conscience we feel, and every spasm of remorse that ever troubles this tragic world, is a token of life and a herald of hope."

3) What was the constant theme of His preaching?
Matthew 18:3  "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 4:17  "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Matthew 12:28  "But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you."
Matthew 19:14  "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

NOTE(JB): A child like trust in Jesus, is what we need to pray for, plus to fully surrender to His will within that trust/faith! This is not possible for us to do by our selves, and why we need to surrender our will to the Holt Spirit, that we have asked to dwell in our hearts/minds!.....Jeremiah 13:23  "Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.."

4) REPENTANCE, how can we define this term?
Ezekiel 18:30-32 " Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.  Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye."
the human race!

Samuel M. Shoemaker, "A Way of Renewal," Religion in Life. ,Vol 12, No. 4,pp. 485, 486.
"We can never remind ourselves often enough that the chief action in Conversion is God's actions upon us!.[JB only IF we are willing to accept this} When we are first converted, it is often because we4 are unhappy over the sins from which we ask to be released; and this is natural. At some time in the process of Christian Conversion-whether before it begins, or afterwords, we must come to appreciate something of the real meaning of Christian redemption. The holiness of God, our estrangement from Him through sin, the Cross as the sign of God's readiness to span the distance between Him and us--- these things may sound very old-fashioned to one who merely contemplates them; but they are the only explanation that fists the facts for one who has really discovered the 'exceeding sinfulness of sin', and has been lifted from it by the power of Christ. We come, through conversion, to a life that has been provided for us, not one which we can create for ourselves. God's part in our conversion is always the primary part....Our part in the conversion is self-surrender to God and His will.  {{this is the most difficult part, plus the fact that we may have to"unlearn" ideas taught to us from childhood, to fit within God's Words of truth!]  If this is not to be but a fleeting emotion, if it is to get us into the will and be a permanent possession, it must be filled with actual moral content. We must surrender, not just in general, but specifically the sins of which we are conscious at the time. The further renewal of our surrender must involve confessing and banishing the actual sins which have crept in since we made our first decision."

5) Why.... must the turning from sin to god be clear and uncompromising?
Matthew 6:24  "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." [ avarice, the love of wealth]

6) How wholehearted must the repentance be of the sinner?
Joel 2:12-13  "Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil."
Hosea 14:1 " O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity."

7) What appropriate words does the LORD suggest the returning sinner should bring to Him?
Hosea 14:2  "Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

8) In whose name may the sinners confidently present his plea?
Acts 2:38  "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost"

9) Of what does God further assure the repentant sinners?
Isaiah 55:7-9  "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

NOTE(JB): Please do not allow the enemy of all, deceive with his idea, "I am a New Testament Christian"  because the Old Testament is the foundation and the frame of the "House of God" His Word!Plus Revelation, the Book of, has {"Borrowed" about 1/2 of all the words and symbols from the Old Book, thus making Revelation of and by itself not understandable! Thus one loses.>>>>
Revelation 1:3 " Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."

10) Besides revoking the punishment, what will God bestow upon those who turn to Him?
      A. A new Heart:  Jeremiah 24:7 " And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart."
Ezekiel 36:26-27  "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

B.The Holy Spirit:  Acts 2:38  "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

NOTE(JB) Many times the term A New" Heart", actually means a new mind, a new ans better way of thinking. The heart after all is but a muscle, magnificent yest but a muscle, without the ability to think or reason, that's the mind's job!

Acts 26:28  "Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian."

Note: ALMOST PERSUADED! Yet lost! I pray, dear reader, that does not fit YOU!

11) How will true repentance manifest {show] itself in one's life?
Matthew 3:8 " Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:"

NOTE(JB) What is then also equally true?
Matthew 3:10 " And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire."

Note: "The Greek word for repent implies a righabout face. It looks on sin to deplore and confess, but the swings round sharply with resolute will to tread a new path, God does not will us to remember that which He is willing to forgive and forget!
\
NOTE(JB): Repentance gains forgiveness, yes! It means the relationship is restored.. However sins have consequences, that we shall not escape from, the smoker shortens his or her life spans, ditto for most of the habits that harms our health, or breaks His laws!

12) To whom did Jesus intend the Gospel of repentance to be preached after His departure?
Luke 24:47 " And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem"

13) How earnestly did Paul fulfill the gospel command?
Acts 20:21  "Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."

Note:: ,"Repentance looks back and forsakes, faith/trust looks forward and accepts."  W.N.Clark.

14) What reward did Paul have for his labor?
2 Corinthians 7:9  "Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing."

15. What are God's people today, exhorted to do?
2 Timothy 2:24-26  "And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,  In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will."

NOTE(JB) Sadly , many today do not accept the fact that Satan, even exists, so why think they that there's many who worship him today? As Luciferians! Yet the preaching of sins and perishing, without preaching the Hope message, is also a sin!

NEXT:  "THE BLESSINGS OF FORGIVENESS"  [To be forgiven of your trespass against another, is a great relief, and lifts up our  spirit. Therefore, forgiveness benefits all. As well as re-establishes our relationship with God and Christ]

The Bible Speaks: "Conviction of Sin" by W. L. Emmerson, Pacific Press Pub. pp 131-133.

Again my sincere Thanks to the two above entities. John B.

1) How anxious is God to deliver man from the consequences of the transgressions of His law, that is sin?
Job 33:29-30  "Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,  To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living."

J.S. Whale: "Christian Doctrine" p.37.  "We are 'rediscovering the abysmal depths of evil in the hearts of men , and realizing that Public Enemy Number One is neither ignorance, nor stupidity, nor defective social environment, but SIN, which is the deep mysterious root of all evils."

2) What appeal does the Father make to the sinner?
Haggai 1:5-6 " Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.  Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes."

3) What part has the Spirit of God in convincing (and convicting) men of sin?
John 16:7-9 " Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:  Of sin, because they believe not on me;"

4) For what type of a response does He the Holy Spirit look for?
Psalms 38:17-18 "For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.  For I will declare mine iniquity;   [confess of  my sins, and repentance power is then received by us]  I will be sorry for my sin."

NOTE(JB) If the so-called 'Modern Man' is not worrying about his sins, that simply shows them that they have not closed their eyes and looked upon the Cross holding their Savior between Heaven and earth, having died, for their personal sins!

5) In what way does godly sorrow differ from remorse?
2 Corinthians 7:10-11  "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter"

NOTE(JB)  The above is akin to "Die to self"., by one's total surrender to the will Of Christ! It is only possible with the power from Heaven!

6) How does God relate Himself to those who truly sorrow for sin?
Psalms 34:17-19  "The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.  Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all."

7) What will godly sorrow cause a sinner to do?
Psalms 32:5  "I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin" . Selah.[think on this fact]

Note: "True confession is always of a specific character, and acknowledges a particular sins. They may be of such a nature as to be brought before God only; they may be wrongs that should be confessed to individuals who have suffered injury through them; or they may be of a public character, and should then be publicly confessed. But all confession should be definite and to the point, acknowledging the very sins of which you are guilty" E. G. White, Steps to Christ, p.43.

NOTE: (JB) Yes there is much and great hatreds towards this lady, who had not ever printed or authored a book, in the which she has not referred back to the Bible as our main source in information. We must remember that Satan hates, above all, the TRUTH OF GOD!
Revelation 19:10  "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

8) To whom else beside God should confession be made?
James 5:16 " Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

9) How specific should be the sinner's confession?
Leviticus 5:5  "And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:"

10) By what will true confession be accompanied?
A: Restoration where possible. Leviticus 6:4 " Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,"
      B. Forsaking of evils.  Proverbs 28:13  "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."

11) What is God willing to do for those who truly confess and forsake their sins?
1 John 1:7-10 " But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

NOTE(JB) Only the Living God-Creator can promise and deliver on this promise! Men can not!

12) What is the condition of those who, in spite of all the efforts of god, remain un-convicted of sin?
Proverbs 14:12  "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
Galatians 6:3-4  "For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another."

13) What do those who fail to heed the Lord's appeal despise?
Proverbs 15:32 " He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding."

Note(JB):  Sorry but most who reject the Bible do not understand it, and have tried to read it without prayer asking for wisdom to understand it! This is the why many a Ph.D. has read the word and declared it nonsense!

14) What fate do they invite upon themselves?
      Proverbs 29:1-2  "He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.  When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."  PLEASE read Proverbs 14:12 again and again! {JB}

15) What admonition should we earnestly heed?
Hebrews 12:25-26  "See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven"

NOTE(JB) He destroyed all but 8 humans once before, and He'll shake this earth again in times yet to come!.

The Bible Speaks---"What is PREDESTINATION?" w.l. EMMERSON. PACIFIC PRESS -Pub. pp.127-130.

My many thanks to the above mentioned for their great effort. John B.

Predestination: A much discussed topic, and admittedly much of it is mis-taught, even from the Pulpits!

So lets clear up one of the greatest errors in Christendom------

1) How many are included within the scope of this saving love of The Father- God?
Psalms 145:8-9  "The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.  The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works."
2 Peter 3:9  "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering  [very patient]to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

NOTE(JB) In other words dear reader, ALL have been predestinated or chosen to be in The Father's Kingdom, but all people will choose Him! I personally have been told, "I'd rather serve eternity in hell, than five minutes in Heaven"!  Sorry The Father is NOT going to give eternal life to those who reject Him and the Son! That's what the Lake of Fire in Revelation 19:20, will accomplish! Where in they shall all those so cast in, shall become.....

Malachi 4:1-3 " For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear   IN AWE OF, TO REVERE ] my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts."

When one is reduced to ashes, is there still life present in the ashes? NO!

2) What, then is the Father's desire towards ALL mankind?

1 Timothy 2:3-6 " For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."

3)  For how many of us did Jesus die for?
Hebrews 2:9  "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man."

4) To how many is the Gospel to be announced?
Mark 16:15-16  "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

5) How is this universal offer of salvation gained by the individual?
Read the above passage again! Note the difference between believing and not believing, is the difference between eternal life and death! As both shall be eternal!

NOTE(JB) Why should this be so? Jesus Christ took our place, as all have sinned, thus need to die for  AND WITH, our sins, IF we reject Jesus and His gift of love for each one of us! Because we refused to release our sins into Jesus, we shall die with our sins, that HE died for!

E. G. White, STEPS TO CHRIST, P. 57. "It is the privilege of all who comply with the conditions to know for themselves that pardon is freely given for every sin. Put away the suspicion that God's promises are not meant for you. They are for every repentant sinner. Strength and Grace have been provided through Christ to be brought by ministering angels to every believing soul. None are so sinful that they cannot find strength, purity, and righteousness in Jesus, who died for them. He is waiting to strip them of their garments stained and polluted with sin, and to put upon them the white robes of righteousness; He bids them to live and not die"

Deuteronomy 30:19 " I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: "

NOTE(JB) Please read 1 Timothy 2:3-6 again for those who only follow the New Testament!

6) What justifiable condemnation is pronounced upon those who refuse the Gospel Message?
John 3:17-21 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

NOTE(JB)  All who shall perish, are those who have chosen to be lost, forever! None who want not to be lost, shall be saved because they have accepted and surrendered to Christ!

7)  WHY can this be so?

Ephesians 1:4 " According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:"

NOTE(JB) This verse shows us all, that ALL of us were chosen even before birth, To be with The Father and The Son forever!

8) What term may be appropriately applied to the saints?
1 Thessalonians 1:4 " Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God"
NOTE(JB) Does this not show that GOD, not men Create Saints?

9) In what sense, however, is this "election" to be understood?
.1 Peter 1:2 " Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied"

10) How is this truth expressed else-where?
.Acts 13:46-48  Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye [ The Jews]  put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed."

NOTE(JB) The red shows why National salvation can no longer be granted to the Jewish nation, each must come to Christ as all other must also! There's no salvation in Heritage, but in and through Christ Jesus only!

!!) How does God regard His elect?
1 Peter 2:9 " But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light"

12 What plan has God made for those who are responsive to His call and who, in consequence, are His "elect"?
   A) They are predestined to son-ship.    Romans 8:28-31  "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"

B) They are predestinated to righteousness.  Ephesians 2:10  "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

C) They are predestinated to glory: Romans 8:30 " Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

D) They are predestinated to inherit the Kingdom.  Ephesians 1:11  "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:"

13) What fate has He determined upon the wicked?    Proverbs 16:4  "The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil."   Proverbs 11:31 " Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner."    Psalms 37:9-10  "For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be."

NOTE(JB)  Proverbs 16:4 God did not make or create beings that chose to do sand be evil, HE has given each one a free-will to chose, to do, good or evil, including Satan.

14: What PERSONAL responsibility will all the wicked have for their own fate?
Proverbs 1:24-26 " Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;"
Proverbs 1:28-33  "Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.  But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil."

15) Can God's elect be torn from His hand?
John 6:39-40  "And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day"
.John 10:28-29  "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."

17) What did Paul exercise that he might not fall from Grace?
1 Corinthians 9:27 " But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."
NOTE(JB): The mind CAN control the body, if one so wills it!

18) How does Peter counsel those who have been "called", and "chosen"?
2 Peter 1:10  "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall"

Summary: Predestined, Predestination, all have but one meaning and purpose: "The Creator God, has called e3ach human Creation, to be by His side forever in a close and personal relationship! Won't you respond to this His call to YOU?"

NEXT: Conviction of Sin:: {{Sadly in most so-called Christian Churches, the speaking out against sin is not very popular, because it does not "Tickle the ears"!

2 Timothy 4:3-4 " For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. "

This is the very reason why all or at least 96% worship not on the Seventh-day Sabbath, but on the Roman Sunday the First day of the week, and now run back to Mother church, forsaking the millions who shed blood for the Bible's truth! There are few "Protesters against Rome doctrines these days! Yest she has publicly stated that it is she who changed the Sabbath day, and it is she who holds her own traditions above the Word of God, the Bible! John B.

Part 5. The Bible Speaks. "Grace, what is it, how does it meet a sinners need.

Thanks to W.L. Emmerson and Pacific Press Pub. pp. 123-126. [John B]

First, what is GRACE? It is God's gift, to mankind, in reality we can't earn it, do not deserve it, therefore it is a gift of UNMERITED FAVOR!

1) What question relating to salvation did a certain young man ask?
Matthew 19:16 " And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?"

2) How did Jesus reply?
Matthew 19:17 " And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."

3. Can anyone claim that he , or she, has earned life and salvation according to this standard?
Galatians 3:11-12 " But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them."

NOTE(JB) It is our love for Jesus, that allows the true believers to fully surrender to His will, and obey the 10 laws.

4) Because of sin, to what are all men condemned?
Romans 6:23  "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

5) What attributes of God's character comes to the aid of the condemned sinners?
Psalms 86:15 " But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth."

6) What provision has the Father made available to man in Christ?
1 Corinthians 1:4 " I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; "

NOTE(JB) Without The Father's Grace, all mankind would be lost and perish.

7) What is the grace of God in Christ, able to effect on our behalf?
Romans 5:19-21 " For as by one man's disobedience [Adam's] many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one  [Jesus Christ] shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord."

Note(JB) Sin is the costliest thing in the Universe, for it cost Jesus Christ's very life! For the perfect paid the price for the imperfect humans.

8) To how many is this saving Grace available?
Titus 2:11-12 " For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;"

9) How many the sinner receive this Grace?
Ephesians 2:8-9 " For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
James 2:18-20  "Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"
NOTE(JB). Contrary to Rome's leadership, works, no matter how noble, will not get us to the Kingdom, if there is no faith in Jesus Christ! Works without faith, is in vain.

10) What is the new basis of our acceptance with God?
Ephesians 1:6  "To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved."

NOTE(JB) Question: "How can we bring Glory to, or Glorify God, with metal piercings, tattoos, illicit drugs, booze and tobacco.... wacky or otherwise, with our minds altered in our thinking? THINK!

11) How did Paul acknowledge the operation of the Grace of God in his own life?
1 Corinthians 15:10 " But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me".

12) Being saved by Grace, what is our relation to the law?
Romans 6:14-16 " For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"

NOTE(JB) Does not this passage tell us that we can not serve both the the religious laws of men and God's Laws at the same time?  Think Sabbath and Sundays worships. Remember were there is no law, there can be no sin! You can't get a ticket for going through a red light when there's not a traffic signal there!

13) Does this mean that we are freed from the responsibilities or the consequences of the breaking God's Laws?
Romans 6:15 " What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid."

14) What does Jesus look for in those whom He has redeemed?
Titus 2:14  "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

15) How is this made possible?
Hebrews 13:20-21 " Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,  Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."

NOTE(JB) With our surrender to His will, we receive the grace and the strength to over come our sins.

16) What will the continued operation of the Grace of God effect in us?
Acts 20:32  "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
(JB) Here's a promise I claim in my Prayers:  Philippians 1:6 " Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
This is what our surrender to His will works for us! Our very character is changed to be more and more like Jesus!

17) What is the ultimate purpose of the gift of Grace of God?
1 Peter 5:10-11  "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

GRACE IS BY WHOM AND HOW?

    Matthew 6:13  "And <kai> lead <eisphero> us <hemas> not into <eis> temptation <peirasmos>, but <alla> deliver <rhoumai> us <hemas> from <apo> evil <poneros>: For <hoti> thine is <esti> the kingdom <basileia>, and <kai> the power <dunamis>, and <kai> the glory <doxa>, for <eis> ever <aion>. Amen ."

Matthew 6:13  "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen"

THIS IS PART OF THE LORD'S PRAYER. Please make note of the word POWER, from the Greek Dunamis The Strong's Concordance # 1411 from 1410 meaning force. Specially miraculous power, mighty, wonderful work. With this power any man can believe, without it no man can believe in Christ Jesus!

The Bible Speaks.."What is Jesus Doing Now"? by W.L. Emmerson, Pub.Pacific Press 1948 pp.117-120.

My many thanks to the above named person and business. {john b)

1) When Jesus had fulfilled His purpose on earth, where did He go?
1 Timothy 3:16 " And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."

2) Under what circumstances did the ascension of Jesus take place?
Luke 24:49-51  "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven."
Acts 1:8-11  "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.  And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

3. Where is Jesus now?
1 Peter 3:22  "Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him."
Hebrews 10:12-14 " But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified."

4) For what reason did Jesus return to Heaven?
   A) That the Holy Spirit might be given us.... John 16:7  "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you."
B) That He might begin His intercessory work for us....:Romans 8:34  "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us."
C) That He might prepare a home for His people...  John 14:2-3  "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

5) What special name is Given to Christ since He acts as our intercessor?     Hebrews 4:14-16 " Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

6) How superior is our High Priest to any early ministrant?   Hebrews 7:26-27 " For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself."

7) To what order of priesthood of Christ likened?   Hebrews 5:10  "Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchizedek".

8) Why was this comparison appropriate?      Zechariah 6:13 " Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. Hebrews 7:1 " For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;"

9) In what Sanctuary does Christ now minister?   Hebrews 8:2  "A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man."

10) What Bible writer was privileged to view into the heavenly Sanctuary?  John the revelator.   Revelation 11:19  "And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail." {plus Rev. 8:3,4;15:5.]

11) Is a sacrificial offering as necessary in the heavenly sanctuary as it was in the earthly?
Hebrews 8:3-5 " For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:  Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

12; What SACRIFICE does our High Priest offer to the Father on our behalf?
Hebrews 9:11-14  "But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"  [also read Ephesians 5:2]

13) For what does the present intercessory ministry of Christ avail?
       A) For the Repentant sinner.   Hebrews 7:25  "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
1 John 1:9-10  "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

      B) For the believer who has fallen into sin:  1 John 2:1-2 " My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation [ payment in full] for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."

NOTE(JB) Please take note that Mary is not even mentioned, for no man nor woman is able to forgive sin, that door and job is only for the Godhead! For a mortal being, to do this is a huge presumption, of taking God's place! Yes we should forgive those who have trespassed or sinned against us, nut no human can ,nor should attempt to forgive one for their sins against an other, as Rome has done for centuries! Time does not change error, to the good!

14) What should Christ's constant mediation inspire us to do?    Hebrews 4:13-16 " Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
NOTE(JB) He knows all, sees all hears all even our very thoughts! So why not accept His as YOUR PERSONAL FRIEND AND SAVIOR?

Hebrews 10:22-26 " Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"

Please make note of the last sentence of this passage, about willful sinning!

Christianity is not so much a religion, as it is a way of living this flesh life! BIBLE is an acronym for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth!

The Bible Speaks--- "POWER of the RESURRECTION." x W.L. Emmerson. Pacific Press Pub, pp.114-116.

My many thanks to the above named, for their great effort. John B.

1) How long a time did Jesus declare He would be in the tomb?
Matthew 17:22-23  "And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry."

NOTE(JB)  Jonah 1:17 " Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
Jonah 3:3  "So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey"
Please know, of the THREE God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit, three is symbolic of Spiritual Perfection. Plus can we say this?  From Creation to the fall into sin is time frame ONE, Period of time of full sin, time frame TWO, Eternity, and no sin nor death, as time frame
THREE..
Now YOU tell me about all the CO-INCIDENCES WITHIN THE BIBLE?  THERE'S NONE!

2) By whom, {or with whom} did The Father choose to foretell to all, about the resurrection of Christ, in the Old Book?
Psalms 16:9-11  "Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.  For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore".

3) What was the first event on the Resurrection morning?
Matthew 28:1-2 " In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it."

QUESTION (JB): As most men celebrate the Resurrection day on Sunday, the first day of the week, what day did God choose as the Sabbath? He "Named only three days, PREPARATION DAY, the 24 hours before the Sabbath,  our Friday, The Sabbath, our Saturday, then The FIRST day of the week Sunday named after the "The Venerable day of the Sun" in 321 AD. bu Emperor Constantine decree! The church of Rome ran with it, as did most of the Protestants yet today!
A: Genesis 2:1-3 and Exodus 20:1,7-11. Luke 23 {last few verses and 24: 1-3, plus Mark 16:1-3 all fix The Sabbath day as per God's will! Note this passage.......

Romans 6:15-17  "What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you."

NOTE(JB) "Never, ever, take the words of men for the Word of god, no not even this man, learn it for yourself!"    Acts 17:10-11 " And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.  These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

4) TO WHOM WAS THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS FIRST ANNOUNCED?
Matthew 28:5-6  "And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay"

5) Who saw Jesus right after His resurrection?.
1 Corinthians 15:4-7  "And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles."

6) For how long was Jesus seen by His disciples?
Acts 1:2-5  "Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.  For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence"

NOTE(JB) This this reason we are baptized by total submersion, no by sprinkling a few drops of water,. Symbolic of His death {our Old Self} and coming up out of the water, is our rebirth, in the the newness of life without sin. Yes, we are ALL sinners, we do fall, but we choose not to stay there, repent [turn away} and ask for forgiveness!

7) What power was manifested in the resurrection of Jesus?
2 Corinthians 13:4-5 " For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.  Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"
Romans 6:4-5  "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:"

NOTE(JB) This is the believers greatest source of hope,His Life, His death, and His resurrection, all spells hope! Therefore it His both, His perfect life and His Resurrection that spells the total hope for the believers.

8) What did the resurrection confirm?
Romans 1:4  "And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:"
Acts 13:33 " God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee."
Psalms 2:7 " I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."

9) What it convincingly demonstrate?
1 Corinthians 15:12-15  "Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not."

NOTE (JB) That Christ and a few other saints were raised up with Jesus is a historical fact written of by men like Josephus and other writers in Greece and Rome itself. However if this ended at the cross, regarding Christ's work, there'd be no gospel to preach, no Christian Faith to proclaim, and no hope for humanity, for eternal life, after sleep in the graves.

10) . As  a result of His resurrection what did Jesus claim?
Revelation 1:18-19  " I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;"

11) What proof of His Power over death was given immediately after Jesus arose from the tomb?
Matthew 27:50-54  " Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God."

12) Of what may believers be assured?
John 6:39-44 " And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."

NOTE(JB) To un-learn, what one has been taught all their lives, is the most difficult object to overcome, without the help of the Holy Spirit unctions.

13) How vital is the resurrection in the plan of salvation?
1 Corinthians 15:14-18 " And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished."

NOTE(JB) Without Christ's death we are all still covered in our own sins, the wages of which are death Romans 6:23. Christ therefore died in in OUR PLACE!

14) What prominence did Paul give to the resurrection of Christ?
Acts 17:2-5  "And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.  And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few. But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people."

NOTE(JB) There is since the Stoning of Stephan, no more "National Salvation" by heritage, but as all others individual coming to The Father in Christ Jesus!
Luke 13:35 " Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."
Acts 4:10-12  "Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."\

15) What attitude to this truth should we share with Paul?
Philippians 3:8-11  "Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead."

The bible Speaks: "DID JESUS NEED TO DIE?" by W.L. Emmerson- Pacific Press Pub.pp.109-113/

My Many thanks to the two above, for their efforts.  John B.

1) WHEN, was Jesus chosen to be the world's Redeemer?
1 Peter 1:19-21 " But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God."

2) When was the plan of man's salvation made, to what lengths was God willing to to go in order to save all mankind?
John 3:14-17  "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

3)  How certain was Jesus of the course of His life?
Luke 22:37  "For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end."

R.A. Torrey, "The Christ of the Bible". pp. 82-83.   "The fundamental importance of Christ's death is seen in the fact that the death of Jesus Christ is mentioned directly more that one hundred and seventy five times in the New Testament. Besides this there are very many prophetic and typical references to the death of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament... If we should print in red, the color of blood, every reference to the death of Christ, most of us would be very surprised to find just how red our Bibles would be!"

4)  In what words did Jesus testify to His willingness to suffer for men?
John 10:17-18  "Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father."

NOTE(JB):  It is ONLY God The Father and Gods The Son, who have the Power of Life within themselves. It just THEM to have the ability to share eternal life with whom ever They chose. No man, beyond Enoch, Aliyah and Moses, and all those He resurrected with Himself that Sunday Morning, has eternal life, to date!

5) What did the death of Christ reveal to mankind?
Romans 5:8-9 " But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."

Note: John Pitts: "Preaching the Cross of Christ", Religion in Life Vol.14, No.2. p.168.
"The Cross of Jesus both reveals God and evaluates man. It discloses, as does no other event in history, the length to which sacrificial love will go in order to redeem the sinful; and it shows, too, that men, although utterly unworthy of that love, is nevertheless worth it.. We sometimes sign: "In
Christ I feel the heart of God.' Yes, the heart of God! But where?..It is in Christ as He hangs from the "Bitter Tree', that we feel the great throbbing heart to the uttermost and gives of its best because it gives of itself."

6) Besides manifesting, {showing] the extent of the love of God and of Christ for man, what further purpose did the cross serve?
Romans 3:25  "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;"

NOTE: It showed the immutability {unchanging] of the Law of God, The Ten Commandments are but a reflection of God's Character, thus they are to be changed by men! Yet they have done son extensively! Read Exodus 20:1-17., and Daniel 7:25.

NOTE (JB):  When in the Garden Christ had all human sins placed upon Him, nearly causing His death in Luke 22 nd chapter, so that an angel had to come to strengthen Him! As sin , nor the sinners, can NOT live before God face, The Father had to remove Himself from Jesus' sight which made Him Jesus cry out ------
Matthew 27:46 " And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

7.What penalty had man incurred through sin?
Romans 6:23  "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord:
Romans 5:12  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

8) Could God abolish the penalty of the Law?
Luke 16:17  "And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail."

NOTE(JB) one Jot or one tittle, is equal to our missing a the "DOT" on an I or crossing of a the "TEE".

9) What, therefore, was necessary for the salvation of man?
A sinless am, not involved in the penalty, and possessed of life, inherit and underived, must vicariously accept it on the behalf of the human race.

10) Who ONLY could fulfill the requirements of such a vicarious sacrifice?
Galatians 4:4-5 " But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons."

Note: Thomas Lape: "A Manuel of the Christian Atonement" p. 25.  "It was not the blood of man, but it was the blood of The God-Man that was shed. As God He obeyed all the requirements of the law, and made it honorable in the justification of us sinners. As man He bore its curse on the tree, and endured its penalty. It was this union of the human and The Divine, the infinite and finite, that gave such value to the atonement, and stamped it with the Seal of Heaven's approbation."

    11)  How does Paul state the doctrine of vicarious atonement?
2 Corinthians 5:21  "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." {In Jesus Christ!]

12) What dilemma did Jesus thus solve?
Romans 3:26-27  "To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith."

13) As a result of Christ's paying the penalty for and of our transgressions, what privileges are offered to mankind?
A: Deliverance from the power of evil that overwhelm us.   Colossians 1:13 " Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:"
B: The revocation of our sentence to death. Romans 5:18-20  "Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.  For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:"
C: Forgiveness of our sinsActs 13:38-39 "Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."

NOTE(JB) Many a preacher has preached falsely in saying that the Law of God was "Nailed to His Cross" thus is no more! Yet we still obey all nine of the commandments rejecting only the fourth--Exodus 20: 7-11. why?

Colossians 2:14 " Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"

There is great deal of difference between a Commandment of God and and an ordinance of God.  It was Moses, under God's supervision, that wrote the Ordinance, all of which were but a "Shadow" of things to come, they were placed BESIDE THE ARK, the tablets of stone were placed inside the ark!  One of the ordinances was the killing of the "Sacrificial Lamb morning and evening, plus the the holding, and observing, of the ANNUAL SABBATHS, These ENDED with Christ's Death, and why the Veil of the Temple was rent top to bottom by unseen hands! The lambs were but a physical substitute for the REAL LAMB Sacrifice Jesus Christ!
IF. . . IF. . .  the law was truly done away with, then there could be no more sin, for where there is no law, there can be no sin, for the Law identifies sins!

D. Reconciliation to God:
D 2 Corinthians 5:18-21  "And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

E. New Status of son-ship    . Romans 8:16-17  "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

F. Sanctification:      Hebrews 10:10 "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."

G: Eternal Life:      John 3:15 " That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:35-36  The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

14) How complete is the restoration which Christ makes possible through His death and resurrection plus His perfect life lived on earth?
Hebrews 7:25 " Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."

NOTE(JB)  "... save them to the uttermost..."  That means nothing one has done, that with honest repentance and humbly asking for forgiveness, one shall receive forgiveness!  Many shall be fully surprised by those who are in heaven with us! lust as surprised by those who are not there!

15) How do the wicked regard the preaching of the cross?
1 Corinthians 1:18 " For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."

16) What does the Cross mean to the repentant sinner?

1 Corinthians 1:18  "....... but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."

17) How will our salvation be consummated?
John 14:1-3  ":Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
Hebrews 9:28 " So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."

18) What reward will Jesus receive in that day for all His sacrifice on our behalf?
      A.  Satisfaction:   Isaiah 53:11 " He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities."
       B. Universal Adoration: Philippians 2:9-10  "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;"

Revelation 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

NOTE(JB) Sorry , and contrary to what most have been taught, there is no burning hell right now, nor has there ever been such as this Lake of Fire to come, for its one time usage.. This is part of God's final "CLEAN-UP"!
Therefore, please make sure YOU are written in the Book of Life   Philippians 4:3; Revelation. 3:5; 13:8; 17:8; 20:12; 21:27; 22:19. In the Old Book its called the Book of Remembrance. in Malachi 3:16.
Think YOU that The Father holds this in importance?
